Integrated Lifestyle Medicine Conference …Pakistan Institute of Lifestyle Medicine (PILM) in collaboration with Harvard Institute of Lifestyle Medicine (HILM) is organizing Pakistan’s First ever Brought an innovative approach to medical conferences by holding Pakistan s first ever international integrative LM conference at Lahore, on the 2nd of December, 2018. The conference spread over 4 days and designed especially for youth, physicians, health care workers as well as the local public, was arranged primarily by Pakistan’s Lifestyle Medicine Training Centre, in collaboration with the Harvard Institute of Lifestyle medicine and Lifestyle medicine Global alliance. Key features at the conference pertaining to healthy living were conducted by renowned public health physicians/professionals, doctors, psychologists, and therapists. Keeping in mind that Pakistan has 64% of population below the age of 30 years, a varied spectrum of leading LM Topics such as nutrition and exercise, human microbiome and its impact on health, role of music in healing, role of happiness and laughter towards holistic health, forks and knives: weapons of Mass Destruction or instruments of hope, health and healing, came as a treatment option for all and greatly captured the audience interests. Dr. Hans A. Diehl and Dr. Margarete Ezinwa, the keynote speakers, especially came to represent themselves as the “ambassadors of good will ” from America. This 7 hours conference came as an eye-opener to all and attracted a large passionate audience belonging to interdisciplinary fields, and professions. Collective wisdom from a few speakers:

“Self-regulation in meal time, waking up time, sleep and physical activity is the key” Dr Margarete EzinwaThe fact that our daily nutritional practices/habits, level of physical activity, adequate sleep, and stress management all play key roles both in prevention and treatment of most chronic diseases, became the core highlight of the conference. As the discipline continues to mature, LMTC will continue to play this important role to empower and create an awareness and understanding to the people in Pakistan and elsewhere, by conducting similar sessions and conferences. Pre-conference workshop was at Lahore Chamber and Commence Industry. There were about 100 renowned businessmen, female entrepreneur, nutritionists, doctors, and media. In their FM studio, they recorded mine, Dr. Hans, Dr. Margarete interviews regarding the conference and about LM. 2nd was the conference day.3rd morning there was an interactive workshop with a group of about 30 lifestyle medicine certified coaches and LM leaders. All of them are members of Pakistan Preventive Healthcare Task Force. The evening of 3rd December there was a talk at our prestigious National College of Arts for about 200 students. Dr. Hans enjoyed talking to these young artists and got a surprise gift of an instantly drawn pencil sketch of his face. 4th December there was a lecture at International RIPHAH University for their 200 plus rehab and pharmacy students. Same university chancellor announced the research grant for LM research as well. The same day we had a talk for about 250 students of Army Medical College.
