Course Description

Lifestyle Medicine does not only prevent disease but is integral to the treatment, management and even reversal of many noncommunicable chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, stroke, high cholesterol, cancer, depression, anxiety, arthritis, and obesity. This course offers the knowledge and skills covering core competencies that were recommended and identified by a national consensus panel of representatives from several physicians and health professional organizations in the United States of America as the basis for providing quality lifestyle medicine services template.

The major focus is on the provision of foundational competencies for primary care physicians to develop practical skills on clinical processes, as well as non-drug lifestyle medicine modalities: nutrition, physical activity, sleep, coaching behavior change, addiction recovery (tobacco, alcohol), and stress management/emotional wellness. The program is carefully designed for the different level of profession primarily for Medical Doctors as well as allied health professionals (Ph.D., MA, Bachelors).

Attendees will receive the latest updates in lifestyle medicine best practices and will also have the opportunity to hone new skills through participation in demonstration sessions and workshops embedded in the program. Participants will obtain the education that will mold them to stay at the forefront of this critical global trend in medical care and to lead by example in transforming not only the patients but the practitioners as well.

Seoul

Seoul, the capital of South Korea, is a huge metropolis where modern skyscrapers, high-tech subways, and pop culture meet Buddhist temples, palaces and street markets. Notable attractions include futuristic Dongdaemun Design Plaza, a convention hall with curving architecture and a rooftop park; Gyeongbokgung Palace, which once had more than 7,000 rooms; and Jogyesa Temple, site of ancient locust and pine trees. Spring in Seoul

During the spring, which falls between April and June, the country is painted pink by the abundant cherry blossoms that decorate South Korea’s green spaces. The weather during this season is the least likely to be inclement, making it one of the more popular, albeit crowded, times of the year to visit South Korea – expect mostly sunny days. [Best time to visit South Korea]

South Korea

As a color for all South Korean Events, we have chosen one of the national Hanbok Colors. A Hanbok is a national dress which exists in many very bright colors and also in soft pastel colors. Each color has its own meaning. The color we have chosen is #f01f61. This color is present in the national South Korean Flower. Hibiscus syriacus, also known as the Korean rose, is the national flower of South Korea. The flower appears in national emblems, and Korea is compared poetically to the flower in the South Korean national anthem. The flower’s name in Korean is Mugunghwa (Hangul: 무궁화; Hanja: 無窮花). [Hibiscus syriacus – Wikipedia]

The Mugunghwa, or the rose of Sharon, is an object of deep affection. Meaning“eternal blossom that never fades,” it has been an important symbol of Korean culture for centuries. … As a further testimony of its cultural value, the Silla Kingdom (57 BC-AD 935) called itself Geunhwahyang, meaning Country of the Mugunghwa. [The National Flower – Mugunghwa]
