As people age, with poor eating & sleeping habits many in their 60’s and 70’s experience memory lapses or dementia.
While attending a seminar in 2014 with Dr Neil Nedley, about dealing with depression, he shared with the audience that men can prevent dementia by offering to wash dishes after every meal. This was welcome news to the wives among the audience.
Women outlive men, mostly because of superior immune system and constant physical exertion. Hence by washing dishes on a regular basis, men exercise their fine motor skills in the brain near the memory parts of the brain.
So to prevent dementia, according to Dr Nedley, men can wash dishes after every meal.
