Greetings from Malaysia! MSLM was founded with the vision to help Malaysians live a healthy life and to nurture a country that is free from lifestyle diseases. Our mission is to advocate lifestyle change among the public and to establish lifestyle medicine as central in healthcare.
Hence there is a need for medical doctors and other health care professionals to come together on a common platform which will allow for collaboration and benefaction of lifestyle medicine as a modality for health promotion management and prevention of diseases. The Malaysian Society of Lifestyle Medicine hopes to foster and coordinate education training and research in the area of lifestyle medicine among health care practitioners and also maintain and advance the highest possible ideals and service standards in practice, education and research in lifestyle medicine. The Society, through its many activities like conferences, seminars, workshops and road shows, also strives to increase awareness among public and private sector leaders as well as the media and public about the impact of healthy lifestyle on individuals and society. The Society will liaise with healthcare professionals/non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) and Government bodies and associations with similar objectives and interests in this country and overseas in lifestyle medicine to achieve its mission and goals.
MSLM also endeavours to work with the Asian Society of Lifestyle Medicine, LifeStyle Medicine Global Alliance and other sister-organisations around the globe to help people lead a healthy and disease free life.
